March Birdwatching

The foggy morning and nice weather motivated me to go out birdwatching yesterday. A good couple of hours. Downy, Hairy, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers. A Hooded Merganser on the pond, Bluebirds, Golden-crowned Kinglets, Red-shouldered Hawks, and a lot of other neat stuff.

Lots of Painted Turtles

Hooded Merganser, my favorite duck. Unfortunately he never got close enough to get a decent picture. I would love to paint one sometime if i ever get some decent reference shots. They are so beautiful.

  1. I love the picture of all the turtles! Where did you get that picture? I have never seen so many at one time!

    1. Haha, I don't remember seeing that many in one spot before either. This is at a park near my home. Just a little north of DC in Maryland.
